Meet Your TEAMS ’27 Host City: Milwaukee

Posted On: October 9, 2026 By : Ted Keith

Milwaukee knows how to show up for sports. With flexible venues, a connected downtown and partners who know how to pull off big events, this city brings the whole crowd along.

In 2027, the sports-event industry will experience it firsthand when Milwaukee hosts TEAMS. Until then, consider this your early look at what Milwaukee can bring to your next event.

Always in the Game

Sports aren’t an occasional event in Milwaukee. They’re part of the city’s identity. Nine professional teams call the area home, including the Milwaukee Bucks and Milwaukee Brewers, alongside a growing roster of national and regional competitions. Milwaukee has welcomed the USA Triathlon, the USA Ultimate College Championships, the USA Weightlifting American Open Finals, the USA Fencing North American Cup, the USA Wrestling Junior National Duals, the U.S. Speedskating Olympic Trials and the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship competition. Regional events including the Tour of America’s Dairyland cycling race, Badger Region Volleyball Championships and Lakefront 7s rugby tournament keep the calendar moving, too.

In Milwaukee, big sports moments have plenty of company.

Room to Go Big

At the center of Milwaukee’s sports landscape is the LEED Gold-certified, award-winning Baird Center. Its 1.3 million square feet of space gives organizers room to think bigger, while 300,000 contiguous square feet can flex for courts, mats, competition surfaces, warm-up areas, expos and fan activations. An additional 52 meeting rooms create dedicated space for officials, coaches, athletes, hospitality and event operations — all under one roof.

Beyond Baird Center, Milwaukee offers a diverse venue lineup built for different sports, formats and capacities. Fiserv Forum, American Family Field and facilities throughout the area give rights holders options for everything from championship competition to multi-venue events.

Accessibility is part of the experience, too. Key venues offer ADA-compliant seating, sensory rooms and all-gender restrooms, while Visit Milwaukee’s Accessibility Hub and Adaptive Events Calendar help athletes, families and fans experience the city with greater ease.

The Final Whistle Isn’t the Finale

Milwaukee doesn’t separate sports from the rest of the city. Game-day energy spills into the neighborhoods, restaurants and gathering places that give Milwaukee its flavor.

Deer District brings dining, entertainment and watch-party energy together just outside Fiserv Forum. Nearby, 3rd Street Market Hall mixes food with games and entertainment. Along Lake Michigan, Bradford Beach adds volleyball and summer events to one of the country’s most accessible beaches.

Athletes bring the competition. Fans bring the noise. Milwaukee brings the flavor. When TEAMS comes to town in 2027, you’ll feel that energy for yourself.

Until then, consider this the warm-up.
